IPTV Smarters Pro is one of the most widely available IPTV players — it runs on Android, Amazon Firestick, and iOS and supports the Xtream Codes API login that most IPTV services provide. This IPTV Smarters Pro setup guide covers the complete login process, what each field means, and how to make the setup permanent so you never have to do it again.
Where to install IPTV Smarters Pro
IPTV Smarters Pro is available across the major platforms with no sideloading required:
- Amazon Firestick / Fire TV: Search IPTV Smarters Pro in the Amazon Appstore and install it directly.
- Android phones and Android TV boxes: Available in the Google Play Store.
- iPhone and iPad (iOS): Available in the Apple App Store.
Once installed, open the app and follow the steps below. On all platforms the login screen looks essentially the same.
IPTV Smarters Pro setup — step by step
- Open IPTV Smarters Pro. On the home screen, tap the Add User button (a large plus icon, or a profile icon depending on the version).
- You will see three login options. Select Login with Xtream Codes API. This is the option to use for virtually all IPTV services — it gives Smarters access to your live channels, VOD movies, and series in separate, organised sections.
- Fill in the four fields:
- Any Name — a label for your own reference, such as "My IPTV" or your provider's name. Does not affect anything technically.
- Server URL — the address your IPTV service provides, for example
http://example.com:8080. Include the port number if given. - Username — your Xtream account username.
- Password — your Xtream account password.
- Tap Add User. Smarters contacts the server and verifies your credentials. If they are correct, it pulls your full channel list automatically.
- After a brief loading screen, you land on the main menu showing Live TV, Movies, Series, and Catch-Up (if your provider supports it). Tap any section to browse and play.
What each section of Smarters contains
Once you are logged in, IPTV Smarters Pro organises your content into clear sections:
- Live TV — all your live channels, grouped by the categories your provider sends. You can also set and browse Favourites here.
- Movies — your VOD film library, searchable and filterable by genre.
- Series — series and episodes, with season navigation.
- Catch-Up — time-shifted playback of past broadcasts, only available if your provider enables it.
- EPG — the TV guide is sourced automatically from the same Xtream URL. No separate EPG address is required in most cases.
Anna installs Smarters on her iPhone and her parents' Firestick from the same credentials
Anna's IPTV service recently migrated to a new server and she had to update credentials on six devices — a frustrating afternoon of hunting through app settings. After moving to iptv.domains, she has a single permanent Xtream URL. She sets up IPTV Smarters Pro on her iPhone (App Store) and her parents' Firestick (Amazon Appstore), entering the same URL, username, and password on both. When her upstream provider later changes their server address, Anna updates it once in her iptv.domains dashboard. Neither device needs to be touched. Her parents do not even know anything changed.
Customising your Smarters experience
IPTV Smarters Pro has a straightforward settings panel accessible by tapping the gear icon. A few useful options:
- Parental controls: Set a PIN to restrict access to specific categories.
- External player: Route playback through MX Player or VLC if the built-in player struggles with a particular stream format.
- EPG time offset: If programme times appear wrong, adjust the offset to match your time zone.
- Profile switch: Tap the profile name at the top to switch between multiple added accounts.
Smarters vs other players
IPTV Smarters Pro is a reliable, cross-platform choice — particularly its availability on iOS, where TiviMate does not run. If you are on an Android TV or Firestick and want a more feature-rich layout, TiviMate is worth considering. Chillio is another excellent option with a particularly clean, user-friendly interface that suits users who prefer simplicity. iptv.domains is also developing Demivo, its own native player coming soon, which will integrate directly with your account.
All of these players use the same three-field Xtream Codes login — see the how to add Xtream Codes guide for the universal setup pattern that works across every app.
Troubleshooting login issues
- "User not found" or "authentication failed": Re-enter your credentials carefully. The server URL must include the correct port (e.g.
:8080) if your provider uses one. - App loads but channels are empty: Your account may be inactive or your credentials may have been revoked by the provider. Check your account status.
- Buffering or black screen after tapping a channel: This is typically a network or upstream provider issue rather than a Smarters problem. See the fix IPTV buffering guide.
- EPG not showing programme data: Go into Live TV, long-press a channel, and select EPG to check if guide data is attached. If it is universally missing, see the EPG not working guide.
