How to Edit Your TiViMate Playlist

Updated 2026-06-20 · 5 min read

TiViMate is a fantastic player, but it's a deliberately light editor: you can hide channels and make favourites, but you can't rename channels, fix a wrong EPG, change logos, or merge providers inside the app. The fix isn't a different player — it's editing your playlist once on the server so TiViMate simply loads the finished, curated lineup.

TL;DR: Put your provider behind a permanent iptv.domains URL → add that URL to TiViMate once → edit (hide / rename / reorder / logos / EPG) in the web editor → in TiViMate, pull to refresh playlist. Same URL, updated lineup, favourites kept.

What you can and can't edit inside TiViMate

  • In TiViMate: hide channels, reorder/hide categories, build favourites, set a custom EPG source (Premium).
  • Not in TiViMate: rename channels, fix wrong EPG mapping per channel, change channel logos, strip messy name prefixes, merge multiple providers, or keep edits when the provider updates the lineup.

Everything in that second list is exactly what server-side editing solves.

Why edit on the server instead

If TiViMate points at a raw provider URL, your provider controls the names, order, logos and guide — and every provider update can scramble them. If TiViMate instead points at your permanent URL, you control all of that, and your edits persist across provider syncs. Switch providers later and you don't touch TiViMate at all.

Step 1 — Give TiViMate a permanent URL

  1. Add your provider to iptv.domains (by M3U URL or Xtream login). Your lineup imports automatically.
  2. Copy your permanent Xtream Codes URL + username + password (or the M3U URL).
  3. In TiViMate → Settings → Playlists → Add playlist → Xtream Codes, paste them. (Full walkthrough: TiViMate setup with Xtream Codes.)

Step 2 — Edit your lineup in the web editor

  1. Open the Playlist Editor. Turn off the channels and whole categories you'll never watch (use ALL OFF, then enable what you want).
  2. Rename channels (or Find & Replace a prefix across a category), set logos, and drag to reorder.
  3. Build custom categories (e.g. one tidy "Sports" group) and, if you have several providers, merge them into one list.
  4. Fix the guide in the EPG EditorAuto-match, or Fix a single channel.

Step 3 — Refresh in TiViMate

  1. In TiViMate, open the playlist menu and choose Reload playlist (or pull-to-refresh). Your hidden/renamed/reordered lineup appears — no re-adding.
  2. For the guide, run an EPG refresh (Settings → EPG → Update). Your corrected TV guide loads.
  3. Your favourites and settings stay intact, because the URL never changed.
Heads-up on order: TiViMate respects your server category/channel order. If you also reorder inside TiViMate, the app's own order takes priority for you — so pick one place to order and stick with it (server-side is best, since it applies to every device).

Frequently asked questions

Can I rename and reorder channels directly in TiViMate?

Only partially. TiViMate (Premium) lets you hide channels and build favourites, but it cannot rename channels, fix wrong EPG mapping, change logos or merge providers. The reliable way is to edit the playlist on the server it points to, so TiViMate just shows the finished lineup.

How do I edit my TiViMate playlist without re-adding it?

Point TiViMate at a permanent Xtream/M3U URL from iptv.domains. Then edit in the web editor (hide, rename, reorder, logos, EPG) and in TiViMate just pull down to refresh the playlist — same URL, updated lineup, favourites intact.

Will I lose my TiViMate favourites when I edit the playlist?

No — because the URL never changes, TiViMate keeps your playlist and favourites. You're only refreshing the content behind the same URL, not adding a new playlist.

My TiViMate EPG / TV guide is wrong — can I fix it?

Yes, but not inside TiViMate. Fix it in the EPG editor (Auto-match, or Fix a single channel) on the server; TiViMate then reads the corrected guide from your URL on the next EPG refresh.

Do I need TiViMate Premium to do this?

No. Because the editing happens server-side, even free TiViMate shows your curated, renamed, reordered lineup. Premium only adds in-app extras like favourites and multi-playlist.
